Getting Started

SINGLE PLAYER
  1. Insert Starcraftä CD into your CD-ROM.

  2. Start Starcraftä by one of the following options:

    1. Once the CD has been inserted, a pop-up menu will appear. Click on "Play StarCraft" to start the game.
    2. Click on START menu. Go into PROGRAMS and select STARCRAFT. Click on the STARCRAFT icon (a wraith). The pop-up menu will appear. Click on "Play StarCraft".
    3. Open MY COMPUTER. Double-click on STARCRAFT (your CD-ROM drive; typically D:). The pop-up menu will appear. Click on "Play StarCraft".
     

  3. Select "Single Player":

     

  4. When you reach the main screen (with all three races), click on "Play Custom":

  5. Double-click on the "Insurrection" folder*:

  6. Double-click on the "Campaigns" folder*:

  7. Double-click on the start file for the campaign (1 Terran Campaign Start, 2 Protoss Campaign Start, 3 Zerg Campaign Start**):

      *NOTE: The Game Type must be set to "Use Map Settings" for single player campaign missions.

    **NOTE: There is an order to Insurrection. The Terran Campaign is to be played first, followed by the Protoss Campaign, ending with the Zerg Campaign.

     

     

    MULTIPLAYER

    1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from the Single Player missions.

    2. Select "Multiplayer":

    3. Select the connection you desire (Battle.netä, Local Area Network, Modem or Direct Cable Connection):

       

    4. Double-click on the Multiplayer folder.

    5. Double-click on the map file you desire (a description of the game map will appear on the right-hand side of the screen):
